This project was especially rewarding for Baltz and Sons as the plan called for a variety of different concrete applications.

Beyond the gunite for the pool-shell and the foundations for the additions, Baltz also installed a stamped concrete cantilever coping around the perimeter of the pool.

This “banded” design was incorporated into a surround for the pool terrace, and later the driveway car-park.

The deck is seamless stamped and acid-stained, with the varying textures and four pigmentations, whereas the terrace insert is stamped in a random stone pattern – an element that is repeated wade2.jpgon a larger scale for the parking area in the driveway.

wade2The connecting walkways and driveway itself are an exposed white-sand/ white-limestone mix that is a custom blend from Memphis Ready Mix.

The inlet approach to the driveway is yet another stamped pattern – English Cobblestone.

Finally, the new concrete floor of the pool house was polished, scored, and stained a green and black diagonal checker-board pattern, with a surrounding perimeter band that ties it back to the design elements of the pool.

This job demonstrates the versatility of concrete in a wide range of applications that all fit within a coherent plan.
